A little bit about Joe…
As Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Mercer Street Partners, Joe leads Mercer Street’s acquisitions and asset management groups and is a member of the firm’s investment committee.
Prior to founding Mercer Street in 2016, Joe was a Managing Director and member of the investment committee at a NYC-based public non-traded REIT. He began his career as an operations and internal audit analyst at Loews Hotels before moving on to serve as Vice President of Asset Management at The Chartres Lodging Group and led business development of Chartres’ affiliate third-party management company, Kokua Hospitality. During his tenure at Chartres & Kokua, the firm grew from four principals and two employees to more than fifty corporate staff members while owning and/or managing over 15,000 guest rooms. Joe oversaw a portfolio of hotels valued at over $1.5 billion. After Chartres, he advised hotel developers and lenders on projects in the Northeast, Caribbean, Texas, and Costa Rica. In 2011, Joe worked with GB Lodging & GFI Capital on the acquisition and development of The Beekman, a $350 million mixed-use condo and luxury hotel development in downtown Manhattan.
Joe is a graduate of Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration and has guest lectured graduate-level real estate classes at both Cornell’s Baker Program and NYU Tisch Center. From 2020-2023, Joe served on the Board of Directors of Common House, a social club operating company with locations in Richmond, Chattanooga, New Orleans, and Charlottesville.
