A little bit about Pilar…

Chablé Hotels & Resorts announced on July, 2019 the appointment of Pilar Rios as Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing. In this role, Ms. Rios will manage the overall sales and marketing strategy for Chablé Yucatán, Chablé Maroma in Riviera Maya, Casa Chable and future projects for the brand. 

Prior to Chable Hotels, Pilar Rios was appointed Area Director of Sales & Marketing in January 2014, for Viceroy Hotels in Mexico responsible for Viceroy Hotels & Resort’s two luxury properties in Mexico, Viceroy Riviera Maya and Viceroy Zihuatanejo. Pilar Rios achieved double-digit annual growth in revenue, room occupancy and average daily rate at both Viceroy properties while her employment with the company. 

She came to Chable Hotels with a consummate combination of experience and special skills, including an extensive upscale sales and marketing background in  Mexico with leading hotel companies. Over more than 20 years in senior executive  positions in sales and marketing, Ms. Rios has honed such strengths as identification, negotiation, and creation of business opportunities through the building of long-term strategic alliances; business strategy development that focuses on the return of investment; team performance management that champions involvement and optimizes contributions of the entire team through effective communication and empowerment; product positioning; budget management; and customer and partner knowledge/loyalty. 

Prior to joining the Viceroy team, Ms. Rios served as Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Mexico for Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, responsible for Banyan Tree Mayakoba and Banyan Tree Cabo Marques. Previously she held senior management positions with Sol Melia Hotels and Resorts including serving as: Senior  Director of Business Development, responsible for positioning the company’s three premium brands of Paradisus Resorts, Gran Melia, and ME by Melia; Director of  Sales and Promotions, responsible for the company’s leisure sales team in North  America, and Director of Sales and Marketing, Melia San Lucas Hotel, Cabo San  Lucas, Mexico (now ME Cabo). 

Ms. Rios is a travel industry expert with cosmopolitan awareness, diverse cultural understanding, and broad hospitality experience in The Americas. She is fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
