A little bit about Dev…
Dev Patel spent most of his youth watching his 1st-time hotelier parents navigate through the ups and downs of the hotel industry. At an early age, he was exposed to all facets of being in the hospitality industry. Being part of a hotel family, no job in the hotel was off the table. With his first room sold at the tender age of 7, he knew where his future would lie. With the true love for hospitality, he regrouped his family's company to invest in boutique hotels to give their guest a sense of experience with every stay. With its most recent opening of Villa Mara, a 16-room luxury hotel located in Carmel by the Sea, his vision of hospitality comes to life. It is influenced by seaside villas in Europe and hotels visited in Asia and throughout the world. “The first motel we owned, we lived in for over a decade, that was our home. Villa Mara is an invitation to a home-like experience set in one of the most special places on the West Coast.”
Dev is also a senior vice president with Kidder Mathews, with a successful brokerage career of over $1 billion in assets sold, most of which are within the hotel sales.
