A little bit about Charles…
Charles Forte is the Director of Development at Rocco Forte Hotels. He joined Rocco Forte Hotels in 2016. Since joining Charles has been instrumental in accelerating the Group’s expansion programme with several major new hotel openings scheduled in the coming 3 years through direct acquisitions, management contracts and leases.
To date Rocco Forte House Milan, Villa Igiea in Palermo, Masseria Torre Maizza in Puglia and Hotel de la Ville in Rome have opened with further properties in Milan, Dubai, Naples, Sardinia and Noto properties due to open over the next 36 months which will increase the current size of the Group by over 50% by hotel number.
In his role as Director of Development, Charles leads the Group’s global expansion; identifying and executing new hotel opportunities and concepts with responsibility for every aspect from concept to funding to signing.
In 2019 Charles introduced a new concept for the Group – Rocco Forte House - launching the first in Rome. Rocco Forte House Rome has exceeded expectations since opening, reflecting a new trend with guests wanting a private luxury experience yet with all the service and amenities of a hotel. The second house, Rocco Forte House Milan will open August 2024 and Rocco Forte House Dubai will open in 2027, with several other Houses in the works.
Charles started working in hotels from an early age and has experience in all operational and non-operational aspects of the business ranging from front desk to preparatory chef to sales and marketing. He graduated from New York University in 2015. Post graduation Charles worked at both CBRE and Rothschilds specialising in the hospitality sector; in particular hotel valuation and hotel finance.
Charles and his team are currently focused on developing the Rocco Forte Hotels portfolio within Italy where it is looking to have a hotel in every key Italian destination. Outside Italy the US, the Caribbean, the Middle East and key European cities are priorities. Charles has a clear vision to develop the Group into a Global luxury leader with landmark hotels in all of the world’s leading destinations.
